Interview of JB by JS
April 14, 2008
Hello, this is JS, and I'll be interviewing JB, a "straight out" person, though very friendly and nice. Her sketching skills are very admirable, and her digital coloring keeps improving a lot over every new work of art!
JS: Okay, here I am with JB, and we're being rushed by our own selves, heh heh. Hey, JB, how are you feeling?
JB: Are you going to write the entire transcript onto the site? XD You can just call me Jamie for this interview but anyways, right now, I'm feeling kinda stressed cuz of school (as usual).
JS: Ha ha. All right, Jamie. Yes, school pressures us more than necessary.
JB: I have three tests tomorrow (that I'm *kinda* studying for...). ...I'm not really studying as hard as I should be, haha.
JS: Heh. All right, let's start with a question about art. Do you like drawing? Coloring? Why?
JB: I started off enjoying drawing more, but lately I've been very frustrated with sketching. Right now I enjoy coloring more because I have more freedom, flexibility, and a range of choices to work with.
JS: Nice. And what inspires you? Name even the littlest things, please.
JB: When it comes to anime art, basically any other advanced artist with a unique style and mastery of colors. But I also draw a lot of inspiration from anything colorful, especially things in nature. I have a very bright, energetic coloring style (usually), and seeing things in real life with the same kind of intensity inspires me.
JS: That's awesome, Jamie! And you mostly do anime, right? Why have you chosen this type of art style?
JB: I actually do a lot of non-anime work at school XD But, I love this art style because it's so...fun. XD There's really no other way to describe it. You don't have to "copy" reality, you can go crazy with design elements, and it's just really entertaining to draw.
